It seems like this year I am acutely aware of so much to be thankful for. It has been a hard year with the loss of Mother, financial worries, hurricanes, unhappiness at work, etc. But with all of that brings an awareness of all I do have to be thankful for...all my family, health, that fact that I do have a job. I am especially thankful this year for my sister; she gives me strength and is such a wonderful example of a kind, gentle Christian woman.

I chose a picture of David (daddy) because this verse just fits him. He is perhaps the most humble person I know. He does not like praise, shys away from compliments and just does what he does because of who he is. And, he loves his hats!

The word peace was so appropriate for this week. Mother passed away this past Saturday evening, peacfully in her sleep. And because of her deep faith in God and mine too, I have the assurance that she is at peace, sitting in heaven with her beloved parents, friends and Jesus. My favorite song is "It Is Well" and it truly is.
